Quality Inspector

Job Description:
The Quality Inspector performs roving audit, inspection and measurement on standard products and processes to ensure conformance to requirements and the shipment of first quality goods to all customers (both internal & external customers).  The Inspector accurately records and documents their inspection results, reporting defects and/or lack of compliance to appropriate personnel.  Able to work unsupervised the majority of their shift with the ability to perform required inspection tasks while remaining flexible and adaptable to changing workload and conditions. 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum two (2) years of Quality Control experience at similar level in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 environment is preferred
  • Quality training/certifications preferred
  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy is required
  • Computer literate (proficient in Microsoft Office applications) 
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced production environment 
  • Ability to read and interpret basic dimensional drawings; proficient in use of measuring gauges including but not exclusive to; calipers, micrometers, tape measures & rulers, go/no-go gauges
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively across operations and sales departments with a positive, team-work attitude with a level of authority related to product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at both plant and management levels  
  • Must be able to pass a color variance screening and have excellent visual acuity
  • Must be safety-conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed on a variety of shifts, overtime as needed
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation  
  • Solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data to makes good decisions and recommendations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, as travel to other facilities may be necessary to assist with inspection duties.
  • Ability to exert up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
