Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description:

The Infrastructure Engineer is accountable for demonstrating subject matter expertise and leadership in IT.  The position designs and implements infrastructure solutions that enable business processes, solve business problems, and scale to growth in: Backup, Storage, and Hosting services; Network & Telecom services; Client services, including software, cloud and on premise systems, identity, and collaboration capabilities; Integration services; Database services; Asset and License Management; Print Services; and Mobile Device services. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in IT business projects that enable company growth and evolution
  • Offer IT solutions to business problems and value-added initiatives on the Project Portfolio driving innovation for the company 
  • Build relationships with business partners to understand their needs and obstacles
  • Provide guidance and solutions to business partners with a service mindset
  • Create and execute functional and technical infrastructure roadmaps with associated topologies, business capabilities, and benefits
  • Introduce new technologies to enable the business' growth and changing environment
  • Provide technical leadership to IT team
  • Develop, document, and sustain infrastructure best practices
  • Manage infrastructure projects that engage technical and business resources
  • Prioritize and resource-plan IT initiatives
  • Proactively communicate issues and solutions with team and end users
  • Tier 3 escalation point on all infrastructure related issues
  • Deliver infrastructure services to end users as requested in a timely manner
  • Establish relationships with suppliers that support Ecore's objectives
  • Active fiscal responsibility by participating in budgeting and forecasting process for both operating and capital budgets
  • Actively participate in strategic and business planning process 
  • Establish and execute Disaster Recovery plans
  • Establish and execute Digital Safety and Security plans, including digital privacy compliance
  • Lead ITIL/Service Management discipline within IT organization

  • 10+ years of infrastructure experience demonstrating technical expertise, leadership, and architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Significant experience with the following, but not limited to:  Microsoft technologies, including SQL Server, backup technologies and scalability, SAN storage, virtualization, encryption, VMWare, automation and orchestration tools, configuration management, Cisco-based technologies, LAN/WAN, VPN, vulnerability management, WiFi technology, Windows client configuration management, MS operating systems, scripting and coding skills, Active Directory, Single Sign-On, Group Policy, client encryption, software distribution, SaaS, Application presentation and virtualization technologies, MS patch management, MS Exchange, SharePoint administration, and other MS productivity tools
  • Significant, demonstrated experience with MS O365 implementation and business change management
  • Manufacturing technology experience preferred
  • Works safely and promotes safety as the overwhelming priority
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Builds relationships with business partners and communicates in manner understandable to audience and with customer service orientation
  • Detail-oriented, but has the ability to see the "big picture"
  • Ability to facilitate change management in the fast pace of technology
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage many priorities
  • Optimizes technology spend and system capabilities
  • Ability to influence without direct managerial responsibilities
  • Insatiable desire to learn, stay current, and apply in business and manufacturing setting
  • Technical certification(s) preferred (i.e. MSCE, VCP, CCNA)
  • Process certification(s) preferred (i.e. ITIL)
  • Familiarity with Lean and/or Six Sigma principles
  • Project management skills preferred
  • Ability to work remotely if necessary
  • May require evening and weekend work to support IT systems
  • Ability to travel as needed to company locations or conferences
