If you are passionate about making a difference and relish in the opportunity to join a leading green products company, capitalize on accelerating growth and global demand for eco-sensitive materials, we have an exciting and rewarding opportunity.  The Training and Development Manager is responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs for all employees. Assesses company-wide development needs to drive training initiatives. Identify and coordinate suitable training solutions. Audit and evaluate effectiveness of training.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess current and future training & development needs; match needs of organization and people; develop, research, administer, and evaluate training programs for effectiveness, in-house vs outsourced
  • Plan and implement staff development and training programs using a variety of methods that may include online, classroom, on-the-job training, mentoring, etc. 
  • Create and maintain a learning library to include a wide variety of training programs that serve the training and development needs of the organization  
  • Use  job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with managers to identify a talent pool of high potentials and successors for development to continuously create bench strength
  • Establish and maintain formal succession plan outlining training & development goals for each year; track current succession plans and modify as necessary
  • Evaluate current training programs and instructor training methods to identify weaknesses or shortcomings and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Monitor and evaluate overall effectiveness of training programs; report on success and ROI
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
  • Manage training budget
  • Manages and oversees T&D department’s staffing needs 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, or relevant field required
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing a Training & Development team, preferably in manufacturing
  • Experience in designing and executing successful training programs linked to strategic priorities
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.); LMS administration experience
  • Superior problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of workplace learning principles, training curriculum development methods and training delivery techniques
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles and tools
  • Ability to work with leadership to create and foster organizational change
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Ability to initiate and develop relationships with employees, supervisors and managers
  • Ability to evaluate employee performance
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with leadership to create and foster organizational change
