Job Description:

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions at the location. This includes directing all IT operations to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and leads the IT strategy that supports the company’s strategic initiatives to include development and implementation of policies and procedures for IT operations and development
  • Analyze complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and proactively recommends technical strategies and solutions
  • Plans and directs all activities of the IT Department to include staffing, training & development; provides leadership and technical direction in all areas of IT to all Ecore locations in PA (Lancaster & York) and to our construction companies: Surface America/A-Turf in NY and SpectraTurf in CA; sets individual goals and objectives for direct reports and conducts annual performance evaluations; overall responsibility for the IT departmental budget; develops, implements, and modifies IT departmental tactical plan to support the overall business strategy of the company's 5-year strategic plan
  • Direct the work of personnel within the department according to a documented schedule that meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Builds and maintains vendor relationships and contracts
  • Plan, implement and administer additions, deletions and modifications to the supporting infrastructure (i.e. LAN/WAN equipment, Network Operating Systems, Email, application, and related servers, etc.) in coordination with corporate leadership
  • Provide project management for assigned IT projects that support and improve business productivity and effectiveness
  • Responsible for capacity planning of all IT-related hardware and software; participate on all hardware and software evaluations
  • Asset Management – manages the purchase of hardware/software products and ensures company assets are maintained and assigned responsibly
  • Perform liaison duties between users, operations, and programming personnel in the areas of systems design, modifications or trouble shooting
  • Review all designs, code and unit test plans where applicable
  • Represent the IT function at User and Company-level review meetings when appropriate
  • Produce detailed project plans and time lines for major projects and application releases; implement effective project control by monitoring the progress of the software release and reporting the status


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years managing an IT/IS department to include staff and budget
  • 5+ years working in a Manufacturing environment required
  • 8+ years with exposure and management to application, database, and/or web development experience using platform
  • Experience in the most current technologies and products used in the industry
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain structured processes and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills a must
  • Excellent communications skills a must; must have the interpersonal skills necessary to work and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the company
  • Ability to work in a fast-growing company
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities 
  • Ability to support multiple departments with a common infrastructure
  • Project management and/or help desk management experience a plus
  • Proven skills in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing is preferred
