Electro-mechanic Assistant

Job Description:

**This position is intended to meet the requirements and complete the Apprenticeship program.**

This position is responsible for general light mechanical duties and to assist Electro-mechanics with daily operations.  This position will be responsible for assisting with and performing duties including plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electrical, and repair or maintenance of machinery and facilities.  Using hand and power tools, precision measuring or testing devices; working within scope of skills and qualifications to repair and maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturers' specifications or supervisor's instructions to assure proper operation and repair.

  • High School Diploma or GED, 1+ years formal technical training is preferred
  • Minimum 1 year mechanical experience in a similar environment to include: using and reading measuring devices, (tape measure, calipers, metric & standard); operating hand & power tools (Applies to non-Apprenticeship candidates)
  • Reasonable English fluency (read, write, speak) required
  • Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • 12+ months forklift and hoist experience is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance, preventative maintenance, and safety procedures is essential 
  • Valid PA driver’s license with ability to drive 24,900lb box truck or flat bed with manual or automatic transmission
  • Basic technical or trades training is preferred
  • Basic computer literacy (inventory data entry, read work orders, etc.)
  • Must be safety-conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
  • Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
  • Must have the ability to exert up to 130 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
