Job Description:

Ecore has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to become an Assistant Supervisor in our EQ Department at our Lancaster location.

This position is responsible for assisting in the daily supervision of the EQ department. Scope includes coordinating the daily schedule for the Mixing, Demolding, and Peeling operations, training operators in the use of the Epicor system, and coordinating the OJT training for these operations. This position also works hand-in-hand with the EQ Production Supervisor to effectively manage employees and fills in as the Supervisor when needed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure overall safety; ensure employees follow proper safety procedures in the completion of daily tasks including fork lift driving
  • Assist with the management and supervision of the daily work performance for employees including providing leadership, direction and training in the work duties, addressing disciplinary issues according to company policy and procedure, scheduling of personnel and partnering with Human Resources to meet hiring needs; approve and manage employee hours in company timekeeping system; assist with shift changeover and daily Operations meetings
  • Perform product inspections on a regular basis and audit daily activities against the operation SOP
  • Supervise & train new employees in the general operations of the department; ensure employees complete position OJT and assist in ongoing training and support
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and supervise the repair of mechanical issues with equipment.

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 1+ year(s) of experience in a Team Lead or Assistant Supervisor role required, preferably in a similar manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years manufacturing experience required
  • Proven commitment to safety and quality within the workplace   
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a variety of production and employee related issues including effective: delegation of work responsibilities; time management; interpersonal effectiveness in challenging personal situations; cultural diversity; coaching, cross-training and development for employee team members 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw appropriate conclusions 
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office required, ERP experience preferred)
  • English fluency (read, write, speak, follow directions) required
  • Successful experience participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives (6S, Visual Management, Gemba walks, Standard Work, etc.) preferred
