Job Description:

The Vice President, Global Sales – Sports & Fitness will support the company Values to lead, manage and motivate multiple Regional Sales professionals to deliver superior levels of financial performance including meeting or exceeding sales budget, profitable growth patterns and market leadership.  As part of the Executive team, this position is instrumental in setting and achieving the strategic objectives and goals of the Company, including creating the Sales plan and strategy for the business.  The successful candidate will be someone who is: passionate about Sales and business development, experienced with relevant and cutting-edge technology for Sales professionals, capable of successfully managing multiple competing priorities, and who is a proven Sales team leader.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve the budget by providing exceptional leadership, creating a culture of world-class achievement, excellent customer service and profit-focus, while contributing to the overall management and strategic development of the company; set business objectives, policies, programs and priorities for sales and customer/technical support service functions; plan, direct and coordinate the efforts of sales personnel; oversee the hiring, performance management, development and training, mentor, coach and improve the effectiveness of sales personnel
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and business partnerships with major channel and end user customers, manage strategic accounts, build and manage dealer distribution channel through dealer networks and warehousing 
  • Develop, monitor and maintain adherence to annual business plan and budget (P&L responsibility); monitor domestic and international market trends, identify impact on ecore product roadmap and suggest new ways to promote and market products 
  • Collaborate with members of the executive/senior management team, determine customer pricing programs and major project quotations and resolve major product complaints/claims
  • Participate in executive and management level strategic and tactical planning process; actively participate in setting the overall business strategies which will assist the Company in meetings its goals
  • Monitor the competitive environment and activities and recommend improvements in company position and capabilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Marketing or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • 6+ years global sales/product management/business development experience in building material or fitness industries
  • 4+ years directing Sales personnel (internal employees and external agents) with a track-record of being a positive leader who articulates a vision that energizes the team to meet business objectives
  • Fluency in 2-3+ languages including English is desirable 
  • Exceptional ethical standards 
  • Approachable and collaborative with the executive team, peers and subordinates
  • Energetic, resilient, and personally committed to achieving success
  • Must be cross-culturally sensitive, aware of regional economic differences and relative pricing expectations 
  • Proven negotiating skills including critical and strategic reasoning under high-pressure situations with proven ability to engage in and close high-level sales
  • Excellent communication, diplomacy, interpersonal skills and persuasive verbal and written communication skills are required to successfully deliver information and clarify understanding of products and services to prospective and current customers; proven ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels, including executive/CEO level, via phone, email and in person
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office Applications, CRM software; fluent in emerging technology for sales presentations and marketing materials
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% of the time
